Steel wire used in the manufacture is hot-dip galvanizing orgalfan(zinc 95%, aluminum 5%).If it is required, 0, 5 mm thick PVC isthen coated on the galvanized/galfan wire to provide added protectionfor use in aggressive environments with acidic soils and water, in saltor fresh water or wherever the risk of corrosion is present.In order toreinforce the structure, the edge wire has a greater diameter than themesh wire.The gabion box is divided into units by means of diaphragmspositioned at approximately 1m centres.
